WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL TOUR 2016!
The last stop on our tour was the ESU/FHTC BLOCK PARTY on Monday, August 22nd!
We had a blast welcoming students to Emporia. They got to play our PLINKO board for cash and prizes and sign up to win one of 2 $50 Visa Gift Cards. We said hello to our ESFCU Board President Aron Dody as he got the party started as the official DJ. We saw the awesomely amazing Culinary Wranglers fusion food truck and said hello to FHTC President Dean Hollenbeck and Chef Brian Romano and his students. We even saw Corky!
Thanks to our part-time staff of ESU students who worked hard!
Tuesday, August 16th
It's time to go to Olpe for the USD 252 Lunch! Thanks to Superintendent Mike Argabright for the wonderful welcome of our staff. We really appreciate the opportunity to say hello to our friends in South Lyon County! We help sponsor the lunch and everyone seemed to love the books with the surprise inside! We always make sure to bring plenty of purple pens!
Monday, August 15th
Our first stop today was at USD 251 where we sponsored their Back to School Breakfast at the Emporia Arts Center. It felt like we were on the RED CARPET and we found out that NLC DOES HAVE TALENT! We enjoyed the entertainment and enjoyed talking with everyone afterwards. Thanks to Superintendent Aron Dody for allowing us to be part of this amazing morning! Hope everyone enjoyed their Books (with the surprise inside) and our infamous pens!

Our next stop was Timmerman Elementary. Thanks to Principal, Kim Kirk, who invited us to visit with his staff.
We brought out some Welcome Back scratch tickets and our Smiley Face Notepads. We hope you have a great year!!
Last, but certainly not least, we hit the road with some Bobby D's BBQ for the employees of USD 243 in Lebo. Thanks to their new Superintendent, Corey Reese for keeping the tradition of letting us welcome the staff back to school! This is such a fun group and they enjoyed their books (with the surprise inside) and they love our colorful pens!
Next, we were on hand to welcome USD 253 employees back to school at their breakfast. Each employee there received an Office Buddy book (with a surprise inside!) and our colorful pens! Thanks to new Superintendent, Kevin Case for allowing us to be a part of this fun day. We loved seeing everyone again!

Our next stop took us to the Flint Hills Technical College and their back to school breakfast. We helped sponsor the breakfast and we gave each employee an Office Buddy book with a surprise inside!!! Thanks to Dean Hollenbeck for allowing us to be a part of this day!

We started off our Welcome Back to School Tour with a stop at the ENEA New Teacher Lunch. We sponsored the lunch and were able to welcome the new USD 253 teachers. Each teacher got an excusive swirly pad and there were 5 lucky cash winners!
June 7, 2016 National Teachers Hall of Fame Welcome Dinner
ESFCU was proud to once again sponsor the National Teachers Hall of Fame Welcome Dinner. The dinner, held at the Sauder Alumni Center on the Emporia State campus, gives the Inductees a chance to catch their breath at the end of the first day of Induction Week activities.
Hall of Fame Executive Director, Carol Strickland started off the evening by giving an official welcome to the Inductees, their host families and dignitaries present. ESU President, Allison Garrett added a special welcome from Emporia State. Chair of the NTHF Board of Trustees, Lindy Whetzel, spoke about what a special week it was for the Hall of Fame. ESFCU President and USD 251 Superintendent, Aron Dody, welcomed the inductees on behalf of the credit union. Emporia mayor, Rob Gilligan read a proclamation from the City of Emporia declaring June 9th as National Teachers Hall of Fame day in Emporia. Carol Strickland took a moment to thank everyone for making this 25th Anniversary induction such a special week. All broke for dinner provided by Sodexho catering.
May 10, 2016 Newman Regional Health National Hospital Week Celebration
ESFCU sponsored the "Get Out And Walk" event on Tuesday, May 10th. NRH employees were invited to take a short break and take a 10 minute walk. Each employee who participated received an RFID sleeve, a snack and they played DICE TRIVIA for GOLD. All employees were entered into a drawing for a Weber Grill and 2 $50 Gift Cards from Fanestil Meats. We loved being there to show the employees how much we appreciate everything they do for those in our community!
April 4, 2016 ESU Employee Appreciation Celebration on the ESU campus. Over 200 ESU employees stopped by to WIN CASH at our PLINKO board, WIN GOLD playing DICE TRIVIA or RING TOSS and to sign up for a chance to WIN a GOLD iPad Pro! Thanks to everyone who came by - we LOVE seeing you all!

ESU Employee Service Recognition Program
In the afternoon, ESU employees were recognized by the University for their years of service. There are also awards given out for the Outstanding Support Staff Employee of the Year and the Outstanding Unclassified Professional Employee of the Year. ESFCU has been a proud sponsor of these awards since their inception.
The Outstanding Support Staff Employee of the Year for 2015 was awarded to Carleen Dvorak and the Outstanding Unclassified Professional Employee of the Year was Susie Aber. ESFCU gives each of these employees $500.
